i would love to know what american gits to bring over to my sister, her 5 year old daughter, who is musically inclined and her drinking husband. i also have 2 cousins who have teenage children and my elderly grandparents. what do czechs crave for from america...what makes them go gugugaga over what gifts. please help. thank you

I suppose you'd like to surprise them - however, have you tried just asking the parents what the kids would like...this can get really expensive for that many people, as I'm sure you've figured out. I've taken CD's in the past and for young girls, pretty earrings, like silver with turquoise. Easy to carry. Textiles were always cheaper in the US in the past, so I've also taken attractive polo shirts for the guys. If the drinking husband also smokes, take him some Marlboros but nothing to drink, they can get it all over there. Just remember to take lots of family photographs with you.
