Hurricane Ian........

I live in Venice Florida and believe the hurricane may deposit us somewhere in Europe. We are carrying passports just in case (alas no points for miles).
Be well folks!

I’m in Sarasota and left yesterday for higher ground.

Britton Hill? The highest point in Florida at 345 ft above sea level.

Stay safe. I've lived in both Miami and Gainesville and have experienced my share of storms. But this one looks bad.

Yes, please take care. My SIL and family are in Englewood. They just got hurricane windows. Hope they hold up.

Stay safe, everyone! My husband's sister lives in Alabama, just barely west of the Florida panhandle, and she has headed upstate.

Many of us around the country are thinking of you and hoping for the best possible outcome. We don’t want you to feel forgotten. I’ve hesitated to use any electronics to contact FL friends so they can maintain maximum charge on their devices. Stay safe.

I have family in Naples (FL!) so they may be going with you. Looks like it’s going to be north of them now. To all our friends in the path of this angry boy, please stay as safe as possible.

We are on the edge of the eye right now and a direct hit if the hurricane is playing darts with Venice as the backboard. Winds are horrible, but high water is a growing concern. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers please.
Thanks

Thinking of you Marbleskies and those in the area of landfall. I've spent a good bit of today watching live video on storm chaser Mike's Weather Page. He's on fb and youtube and you've probably been watching him too. I'm sure the wind has been awful and I'm hoping you still have power! Thank goodness you are north of the eye. Everything below is getting slammed with hours of sustained storm surge. I shudder to think about Captiva and Sanibel and what will be there after this is over. I'm up near Jax and the rain started this morning and the wind picked up shortly afterward. Wind and rain are coming our way but nothing like what you are going through. And... we lost power for about an hour before I could post. Thankful it is back on now.
Please report back when able on your welfare.

Middle seat of a 14 hour flight with worst turbulence ever! Fellow travelers would not share arm rests and for some reason the captain shut down all the ancillary power with absolutely no air coming form the overhead vents. Flight crew struggled while striving to do their best, but some passengers obviously had snuck their own liquor on board. Commodes were overflowing from high use.
Finally landed only to discover our favorite vacation destination is mostly underwater and shall remain so for awhile.
However, any landing you walk away from is a good landing!
Appreciate everyone's concern.
Thx

Marbleskies! Glad you are coming thru with your sense of humor intact! Wait til those passengers consume all their good liquor and are down to the Creme de Menthe and Galliano. Things will get really ugly!

Nance! Thinking about you as well as the other forum folks from FL.

Too many years as a FL resident still makes me glue myself to storm coverage.
