Have any of you seen Leonardo's "Last Supper"? Was it worth it to you, to book to see it months in advance? I do really love Leonardo's work, he fasinates me the most out of any other artist by far.
Several years ago I was able to book a tour at the TI in Milan that included a same-day view of the Last Supper. I felt that it was worthwhile, but I wouldn't book months in advance and make a special trip to Milan to see it. This question is like the similar question about visiting Stonehenge. We've all seen many pictures of these things and expect something magical about really being there. For these two places, I would say "Don't go out of your way."
Brittany, if you have to ask how worthwhile seeing an original painting of one of the world's smartest and greatest artists is, I wonder if you're really such a big fan of his - nothing wrong with that. Personally I don't have to line up to see a Picasso as in my eyes they just look like childrens' paintings. I think only you can answer your question yourself. Plus consider: How frequently do you get to spend time in Milan?
I'd have to agree with the other poster. It was well worth seeing, but wouldn't book it way in advance. I wouldn't go to Milan specifically to see the last supper if I didn't have any other plans to be in the MIlan area- such as going to Lake Cuomo, etc.
