How do I search the archives? Can I search using key words? Please help
Copied from the Webmaster: Get answers to your questions searching Rick's Archives Often, your question has already been asked and answered many times already. Here's how to find all those answers: 1. Go to Google Advanced Search 2. Copy and paste "www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/" into the "search within a site or domain" box 3. Enter appropriate search words into the "all these words" box (the more specific your search terms are, the better the results) 4. Click the "Advanced Search" button. To get more from your search, click "Show options" and try clicking "More text" to view more content, click "Forums" to refine your search to Helpline-specific info, and/or try any date selector (i.e. "Past week") to organize the search results by date. You'll be surprised by how much you find and how specific the search is. Example: To retrieve all posts you have ever made on the Helpline, follow the above instructions using your Helpline user name in the "all these words" box. Note: To search Rick Steves' wealth of European travel knowledge available on this site, follow the instructions above using "www.ricksteves.com" in the "search within a site or domain" box. Webmaster note: We apologize that for technical reasons at this time, search bars are not allowed to be embedded in the Helpline. Many thanks to Kent for initiating this page and Bee of Des Moines for teaching Kent these methods. Webmaster Edmonds, WA USA 10/20/09 Send Private Message
Searching the archive is covered extensively in a link off the main Travelers Helpline page, under Tips and Tricks. See http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm/rurl/topic/39695/bget-answers-to-your-questions[INVALID]searching-ricks-archivesb.html . Replace [INVALID}] with a double dash.
Thank You
