Is it reasonable to assume that I can walk from Terminal 2E to 2F at CDG? Is it necessary to take any type of shuttle or is walking it easy or does it depend on the exact gate on arrival ? I arrive from Amsterdam on an AF flight ( possibly operated by a partner airline) and my partner arrives from US on AF. I need to meet them and they arrive about 45 minutes before me. I know that both areas are large areas so I guess I need to know best case and worst case. We will all just have carry ons so no need to get luggage.

www.aeroportsdeparis.fr contains plenty of useful information. If you go to the maps section you can see blow-ups of all the services at the various wings of Terminal 2. You and your friend can choose some place like a coffee shop to meet. Each can print out the map to help navigate to the rendezvous.
Failing that, in the worst case, meet at your hotel.
