We are going on a tour of Armenia and Georgia. How safe is it for pickpocketing?
Use usual precautions. But most of the professionals head to western Europe where there’s more profit to be made.
Never heard pick pockets were a thing there?
Otherwise, follow the US State advisories. Right now Armenia is a Level 2 (like Germany). Georgia is a level 1 except for South Ossetia and Abkhazia which are 4. I would keep my distance from them. Both countries are experiencing new tensions with russia but I suspect there will be lots of warning before shots are fired. I believe the street protests continue in Tiblisi (could be wrong, check me on that) and those have turned violent from time to time. I would go in a heart beat. Just use common sense.
