My family will be traveling through Ireland, Denmark, and France this June from the US. We will spend the first week in Dublin, Ireland and fly from there to Aalborg, Denmark. All of the flights to Aalborg include 1 stop in Copenhagen. I assume, since Copenhagen will be our first point of entry into Denmark we will need to go through immigration/customs there? Or can we just make our connecting flight and go through in Aalborg? If we have to go through in Copenhagen, how much time should I allow between our connecting flights. The connecting flight options both arrive and depart from the same Terminal 3 in Copenhagen and give us either 50 minutes between flights or 5 hours. I would prefer the 50minute layover IF that is possible?
No you will not got through immigration since Denmark is in the Schengen Zone. Book the 50 minute layover if you miss the connection and it is the airlines fault they (is it SAS?) will put you on the next one
Thanks for your prompt reply Jazz+Travels! I was concerned because I thought Ireland is not in the Schengen Zone so I might have to go through immigration. Yes the airline is SAS so that is great news about putting us on the next flight if we miss the first option :-).

The UK is not in the Shengen but The Republic of Ireland is not in the UK.
slocke754, you are correct. Ireland is not party to the Schengen. You will go through immigration in Copenhagen.
If this is all on SAS, 50 minutes exceeds the minimum connection time so it is a legal connection.

Looking at the SAS site for random dates in June shows flight choices with more than 50 minutes and less than 5 hour layovers
Thank you all for your replies. I found an option for a 1hr 50min layover that will hopefully be enough :-). Laura and Joe thank you especially for the links to the transfer time chart and map of Schengen countries. Happy travels!
Copenhagen Airport isn't large and seems very efficient. I flew with a carry on and was through customs/immigration in no time (but I beat my plane to the line, it may have been slower after everyone got there).
