My wife has a irish passport. If we travel together are we limited to 90 days in mainland europe?

I'm not sure I am interpreting your question correctly, but here goes. It's irrelevant in this case what type of passport your wife holds. If you hold an American passport, then you are limited to 90-days, and even though she has limitless entry, you don't, so if you travel together, you are limited by the minimum, which is 90-days for you. She can stay, but you'll have to leave. You can go back to Ireland for 90 days, and then reenter. Perhaps there is some form of visa that is easy to obtain that allows you to travel beyond the 90-days if you travel with her given her citizenship, and hopefully someone who has attempted it or is an "expert" will chime in.

Prob can stay 1 yr in Ireland with her if you want. As to travel, I have a UK passport and wife is Cdn - I couldn't find a way around the 90 in, then 90 days out rule.

Yes, unless she register as a resident in Ireland and apply for permission for you to stay.

This is only viable for relocation.
