How is the area in Rome called Esquilline?

Is it a good place to stay?
What is the most central to all sites?
Best location? Good Price?

I stayed in that general area on my first visit, but afterwards I have stayed nearer the Pantheon. On the last trip I rented a flat for a few days near the Campo dei Fiori. For me that was walkable to most attractions. I also found the taxi fares to be reasonable. If you're going just to see the usual sites, I would suggest booking some tours ahead of time. For example, people were standing in line for tickets into the Vatican Museum for hours. I booked a tour and got in at the scheduled time. Of course time of year makes a huge difference. When I went the last week in February, I walked right in at opening time. Have fun!

Oh, o.k.! Have either of you stayed at or heard of the Hotel Opera Roma?
