How do you select a specific flight itinerary using AA.com

Is there any way to search and book a specific flight itinerary on the American Airlines website. I have an additional person coming on a trip to Germany in July who would rather fly with a friend than on her own. I booked a flight about a month ago using AA points. This itinerary is ORD-LHR and return MUC-LHR-BOS-ORD. (Those airline points don't always give you the most direct routes but it was one I could live with).

My friend would prefer to get on the same flights, I cannot get the MUC-LHR-BOS-ORD itinerary to come up on the AA website. The options are MUC-LHR (same flight) and then LHR - ORD. What does it mean if this does not come up on the list of itineraries available? I have not had this happen before. Is calling the airline and booking the only option here?

Maybe you could call American Airlines reservation center and get a person to speak on the phone.

I understand what you're running up against. Seldom do people ask for so many stops.

Using the 'multi-city' function may allow you to plug in the stops you are aiming for so you can coordinate your flights.

I assume you scrolled to the very bottom and checked 'show all' ?

If the multi-city function does not get you what you want then a call may be the necessary option.

I thought the Multi-city function might work. Just tried it and this is what I got: "You can't book connecting flights as individual flight segments. Please change your flight search." I guess I will have to call an agent.
But thanks it was a good suggestion.

Call AA. You already have a routing booked and you are trying to book a friend on the same routing AND same flight. Multi-city searches are for multiple stops, not connecting flights. I would also assume that your friend would want to be seated next or at least near you. All these needs require personal attention from a airline agent (real person, not a computer).

Thanks all, I called AA and they were very helpful in getting the same itinerary as well as "linking" the tickets so if one changes the other will. Pricing was what we anticipated and the $35.00 booking fee to book by phone was worth it. The agent stated not all possible routes are displayed on the website.
