Interesting article. Anything which will improve the customer experience is a welcome. In this day and age with so many humans without customer service personality in front of customers and their lack of training, I would gladly talk to a Bot. Translation AI is improving constantly and soon no one will HAVE to speak a foreign language to enjoy a conversation with someone in another country which will make communication more substantial.

Remember when we laughed at The Jetson's?

Be warned that if you click on the above link that the site it takes you to has a "go-back" trap that brings you to an inescapable page if you try to return to the forum. It only does this once on your first visit, but it's annoying never-the-less. Nothing malicious, and the site is legit.

To some (including myself) the term "Artificial Intelligence" implies that one is not intelligent enough to take care of one's own self. While in Europe several years ago, a member of our group was discussing all the high tech gizmos such as cell phone, tablets, GPS, wi-fi, and etc., that was being used on the trip, and commented "How did people ever travel without all this stuff". My thought, as one who traveled extensively in Europe in the mid 1960s, was "Actualy quite well, and a heck of a lot simpler". Guess my inner Luddite is showing.

I am not a great fan of the new technology and AI scares the crap out of me. Too many Terminator movies.

I have already bought stock in a bunker in the Brazilian RainForest.

But I use apps for Airlines, Hotels and Taxis and i dont go to the head without putting it in Google Maps for directions.

Does all this mean more people in fewer places, crowded to the point that the AI has sent every tech-savvy person to the same places?

If the travel industry is now changing, who’s benefitting?
