Does anyone know of a three star hotel in Wengen or Murren that can easily accomodate 3 adults in one room ? I am travelling with my young adult son and daughter in August. Judy
In Mürren, the 3-star Alpenruh lists triple rooms on their website. Hotel Bellevue and Alpina both give prices for 3-bedded rooms, but you migh tcheck to be sure this is a true triple room, not a double with Zusatzbett (extra bed added).
Alpenruh ond Alpina are perched on the edge, Bellevue is higher up in the village.
We haven't stayed at any of these, but we always dine at Bellevue once during our Mürren stays. (The food is very good there). The alpenruh has a lovely patio we always admire, but I've read that some of the lower rooms have obscured views.
We have stayed at the Hotel Bellevue in Murren twice. It is a very nice place, and we enjoyed the location. We had three people too, but we chose to have 2 rooms. I think they did offer a room for three. You might call them. They speak English very well. They also have the only coin laundry in town.
3 bedded rooms are MUCH easier to find than quads. You won't have any problems. Personally I would check at the Chalet Fontana to see if the apartment is available. There are 2 bedrooms so a little more privacy is offered over just a hotel room.
...and probably the cheapest place in all of Mürren, excluding, of course, sleeping in the hay in the local barn!
I know that the large room on the very top floor of Chalet Fontana can accommodate 3 people...maybe 4. We stayed in that room in 2006...it's a big room. I'll recommend this lodging highly!
Chalet Fontana does indeed have several rooms that accommodate three people. But it is not a 3-star hotel, which is what Judy requested (no ensuite bathrooms in the B&B section, oly shared).
On the other hand, the apartment on the ground floor that Tim suggested would give the three of them a good amount of space and privacy, and a private bathroom.
