Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels you've had good experiences with near Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, 20th Arrondisement? Thank you!
Boy, this thread is really dead.
That area's kind of on the far eastern end of everything anyway - - not exactly handy except for vampires who can hop over the fence after the joint closes. Bets might have an idea, not that she's a vampire or anything.
The cemetery is one of The Doors to the city.
Ed is right. It gets pretty Wilde in there at night.
But will it win an Oscar?
And there's some who died on the Chopin block, or so they Say. And some just went up in a Piaf of smoke.
An awful lot of Callas answers here.
When I'm in that area I'm Grateful for the Dead. (no they're not there)
People have been dying to stay there for years.
Hi Evelyn, We stayed at the Hotel Residence Alhambra on the Western edge of the 3rd, and we walked to the cemetery from there. It was about a 25 minute walk, but worth it if you just go down Avenue de la Republique. The hotel was clean and had friendly staff. The details for the hotel should be in the guidebook (it was in the 2008 edition, anyway). Hope this helps.
Maybe this thread should " rest in Peace." Seriously, have you heard of the Mama Shelter?. I have not been there, but I think it is an upscale hostel. I have heard good things about it. It is very contemporary and different. Have a look at their website . I believe it is nearby.
