A suggestion for a hotel or pensione ($$) for Oct 14,15,16 that is sort of in the heart of things.
We have an early morning flight out of Florence on Oct 23, will be returning from the Cinque Terre by train on the 22nd. Any suggestions on where to stay for that one night near the airport? Restaurants for dinner? Thanks Barbara

Hotel California (yes like the song!) is pretty close to the Duomo which makes it a great location. It is not too expensive, and was recently renovated so you get an amazing place for the money you pay.

We once stated at the Hilton Garden Inn - excellent value, clean, nice, modern, located in the outskirts of Florence very near the airport. I believe we paid less than EUR 100.00 incl. Hilton Breakfast. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel from where you can hop on a public bus to town, 10 mins. Very good if you want to out for a dinner and don't have to worry how to get back home. Check the return schedule once you're in town to avoid missing the last evening departures. happy holidays!
