Can anyone compare the Hotel du Forum with Hotel St. Trophime or Hotel de la Muette in Arles? My husband and I are bringing 18 art history students to France (first stop Arles for 6 nights). I think the students would be thrilled with the proximity to Van Gogh's cafe at the Hotel du Forum but the St. Trophime looks wonderful too. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Arles is quite small, and no matter where you stay you are an easy walk from "the cafe". We stayed at Hotel L'amphitheatre (family of four) and absolutely loved it. That was in 2003, so there may be more current info out there.
We made a day trip into Arles and visited Hotel du Forum on a recommendation to see the bar where famous personalities have hung out through the years. I liked the traditional feel of the hotel and the friendly staff. The location is terrific. I hope to stay there some day.
Thanks! As I thought, Hotel du Forum seems perfect for our group!
