hotel rooms for 4

I doubt you will find many places with rooms for 4 adults. I mean, think how large the room would have to be to accommodate 2 double beds (or 4 single beds!) and then think, except in the most expensive & luxurious hotels, about how small most European hotel rooms are. Is there a particular & pressing reason why all four of you need to be in one room?

Two rooms cost twice the amount one room does. A quadruple room may be a bit more expensive than a double but almost always cheaper than two rooms.

Alternatively, renting a vacation appartment may give you enough room for 4 at a more reasonable price.

I haven't answered as the question is way too vague. WHERE in UK and France are you planning to go???

Eli, the OP is asking about rooms for 4 adults. Were you all adults in the hotel rooms you recommend?

Are you looking for 4 singles in the room or are 2 doubles/2 queens ok?

Not sure what your budget is, but if looking for 2 doubles I have found that some of the Marriotts/Hiltons in London have these rooms (you may have to email the hotel directly and ask for family rooms. I know that the Renaissance Chancery Court in London (a Marriott property) could handle 4 in a room (this hotel has a large # of spacious rooms) but it will be pricey.

Also, right across from the Renaissance was a Citadines apartment hotel that you could check out.

Elvin - We're a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) and even I have had a hard time finding rooms for 4. What I've done so far, is go to hotels.com plug in my required numbers and then use that as a starting point - combining Ricks suggestions, trip advisor, advice I've gotten here. I have narrowed down in Paris - We're staying at Novotel les Halles..still working on London & Rome.

try booking.com and check the box for family rooms. just found several in paris. we had good luck with this site for rooms for us and our two grown sons. there are certain cities where you just have bite the bullet and do two rooms. they say its fire code.

I have just made two reservations in Germany and one in Italy for my family of 4. In all three cases, the hotels did not mention anything on their websites about having rooms with 4 beds or a 2-bedroom apartment. But I saw some reviews on TripAdvisor that hinted they might have such a thing. So I sent an email inquiring if they had family rooms, and all three had a 2-bedroom suite with small living area. Prices for the suites were a bit less than for two double rooms, and we will be much happier with a shared suite.

Moral: write and ask. I was very pleasantly surprised and I'm really looking forward to both the extra space and not worrying about my kids (teenage girls) sleeping down the hall from us.

Similar to Nelly, I usually travel shoulder season without reservations. I call ahead for the next room. When I call, I tell them what I need (e.g. "A room for four adults") and let them suggest what they have that will work.

I travel alone, with friends, wife, kids or combinations of those. I usually have good luck letting the hotel, B&B or pension offer what they think is suitable. Sometimes we end up with two rooms and other times we'll get an apartment (that I would have had to rent for a week to book in advance).

I've been able to find rooms/suites for 4 to 5 people during our travels. Hotels may have something that's not listed on their website or in a guidebook. I usually send an email to a place that I've found in a Rick Steves guide book, tell the hotel that I need something for 4 adults and they let me know if they have something to fit my needs. I agree with the post above, that places often have apartments or suites available but not listed. It never hurts to ask!!

The Euro Hotel in London has family and quad rooms, is fairly comfortable and in a convenient location (Bloomsbury). But for 4 adults, I'd definitely consider booking an apartment.

Some of their rooms would definitely sleep four people and you'd even have a kitchen.

I don't see what the problem is unless you're fixed on "rick only" places. I just looked on venere.com and found scads of them all over London.

From personal experience I know they aboud in Paris. Try venere again, or look at the Campanile chain. Also, the budget hotels around Paris (ETAP), etc, have double rooms at a rate at which two rooms would be as inexpensive at one big one someplace else.
