"Hotel & Restaurant Review" vs. "Destination Q & E"

I've noticed a lot of people asking questions on the "Hotel & Restaurant Reviews" section rather than the "Destination Q & E". I don't think they understand clearly that those are for reviews and therefore maybe not getting their questions answered.

Is there anyway to make this more clear for them? Webmaster? Maybe it is clear but they are not paying attention to the choices?

I feel bad when they don't get many responses because it is posted in the wrong area.

They are the same ones that write questions on the Trip Report section.

Obviously it's gone on for a long time. I'm not sure why Webby would not want to simply show "You Are About to Submit A Trip Review-Please Confirm This is the Category You Want!" or some such warning. These errors in placement do not serve to optimize site experience and could seemingly be easily reduced or eliminated.

I often see just a couple responses when it is posted in the wrong area. I feel bad when, if posted correctly, people would get more input. It would be nice if there was something like you suggested Dave.

Oh, well. I guess if they don't get what they need maybe they will look closer at the forum.

Or maybe they get enough responses from people who just use "All Topics" to see what's new.

A question doesn't stay on first page of All Topics for very long. Most of the time, less than an hour. I have a heck of a time keeping our monthly meeting thread on 1st page of All Topics.
Once their question is on 2nd page, it's usually history.
I agree with you Susan, I feel bad for them too.

If people would look closer at the Forum and read everything what is at the left hand side of the upper part of this page 90% of their questions is already answered there. I don't know what to think about questions like this: I am going to France. Please suggest a good itinerary. (Or maybe I know but it would not be appropriate here).

The forum home page doesn't make a clear distinction. If you read most of the page, you get it. If you just start clicking . . . .

Many people are never going to read instructions carefully. Also, if you just glance at the page you see that under each heading there are travel questions - also misleading. And some of the categories are ambiguous. Why is "transportation" under "tips and trip reports"?

I guess transportation is considered a tip?
