Hotel in Riga

Hello Forum posters. We are planning a 2 night/3 day stay in Riga in August with our 7-year-old grandson. We have lots of experience finding hotels and/or B&Bs, but Riga is proving more challenging than usual. Well, yes, we’re being fussier than we’d normally be, but the child factor is an added complexity. In the best case, here’s what we are looking for:

— A room that will be large enough for two adults and the kiddo
— Air conditioning
— A pool would be nice but not a deal breaker
— Clean!
— Walkable and quiet

Yup, I’ve checked booking.com and googled family-friendly hotels, but I trust this Forum as a source for thoughtful recommendations. Insights and suggestions, please. Thank you!

I have twice stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in the old town. The last time was in May.

Great location and has everything you asked for except the pool. I think you'll be hard pressed to find a pool at a hotel in Old Town Riga.

I too have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and agree with Frank that the location is superb. I also stayed at the Pullman Old Town last month and that too was in an excellent location. It has a pool, air conditioning, a good breakfast spread although at €25 per person it's fairly expensive however you can certainly get your money's worth and not need to have lunch so it can work out to be cost effective. It's located in the Old Town so everything is on your doorstep. Their suites have sofa beds so four people can be accommodated and it's very quiet. https://all.accor.com/hotel/9619/index.en.shtml#section-facilities
