Hotel Accomodations for family in Paris

I have searched and read Rick's books and cannot find accomodations in Paris for 3 nights for 2 adults and 2 14 year old kids. I cannot afford two rooms. I realize that rooms are small in Europe, but is anyone aware of a chain hotel or anyplace I can get a room for four that is under $300 per night?

Cindy,we are a family of four and last year we stayed at Hotel Residence Foch in Paris. It was a family room with beds for everyone and it was great. It also has great reviews on trip advisor.Good luck.

I posted the following suggestion when someone asked a similar question recently. I think we paid 120 Euros/night, but they were not serving breakfast when we were there in August, so we may have gotten a small discount.

You might try Hotel La Louisiane. We stayed there in August (family of four) and we had a room on the top floor that had two rooms and get this, two bathrooms! I think the bed configuration was probably flexible, but our kids (teens) slept in two twins in one room, and we had two twin size beds pushed together in the other room. There was a pocket door in between that could be closed. One bathroom had a large (modern)tub (whirlpool, maybe? I only used it for laundry!), and the other a small shower. The decor of the hotel is minimal, but our room had closets, a small refrigerator, and looked relatively freshly painted, new beds, etc.

I'll give you a totally different idea. We stayed at a huge campground in the Bois de Bologne, right in Paris. It was full of interesting people from all over Europe in their campers and tents -- however, they also rent trailers and they are very affordable. I think ours was around 70 euro/night, but the price depends on the time of year.

The trailer had 2 bedrooms, kitchen, sitting area with dinette (for more beds if you want) and bath. Plus there is a store on the property and 2 restaurants, plus a play area for the kids.

It is right across the Seine from the village of Suresnes and you can walk across the bridge to a large grocery store, several restaurants, and even a McDonald's with free wifi.

Directions on getting there is on their website -- easy with metro and a short bus ride. Reservations for the trailers is a must as they are very popular.

Cindy:

Hotel Republique - just steps off Place Du Republique has great little family rooms. We stayed there with the kids and it was our best bargain in all of Paris. They have a website - just google the name of the hotel.

The Metro is half a block away so you can get anywhere.

The hotel is clean and quiet.

The "family rooms" consist of a queen bed, bathroom, attached additional bedroom with two twins. It is very compact - but after all - it is Paris.

One other thing the kids loved about the place was the elevator that was only slightly smaller than a standard coffin!

I would certainly stay there again. Have fun.
