We have to change our plan. and now my husband and I are looking for a hotel to stay in Munich. Checked many hotels and website recommanded by Rick steves, most of them are all booked out. Help please!!
Try Hotel Ludwig opposite the train station. Read my and other reviews on tripadvisor.com under hotel review.
Try also www.hrs.de.
I stayed at the Deutch Theatre hotel and it was clean and close to the train station. Came with breakfast too!
Since this is during Oktoberfest, rooms will be very hard to find, and expensive. I checked a few booking sites, and they came up with a few hotels---for 300 euro and up per night. Maybe consider staying outside the city?
Unless you are planning on going to Oktoberfest you should probably look at staying in another region. Rooms have been booked for months and prices skyrocket during Oktoberfest. I had emailed on of Rick's recommendations and was quoted about $300 for a small single. I ended up using reward nights at a Holiday Inn. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford it.
During Oktoberfest you won't find any good value room deal - at least not anymore. Check for accommodation in nearby towns like Augsburg, Erding, Starnberg... they're all pretty well connected with Munich by S-Bahn and train. S-Bahn station Hacker Brücke (bridge) is for Oktoberfest. Just follow the crowds.
