I made an internet reservation that said ..." valid taxes at time of booking" but..."This amount does not take into account certain accommodation taxes that need to be paid directly to the hotel." Does this mean when we go to the hotel, the price will increase significantly??
It sounds like there will be extra taxes. Which country are you going to?
It might be a tax that an expensive resort might charge extra??? Like golden Coast...
I am not sure why. You can try to call the hotel to see what's going on.
What that likely means is that the taxes could change btw now and then- something not in the hotel's power and an amount that MUST be paid. They are just letting you know that you might pay more if their government raises the hotel tax before you arrive.
It would help to know what Internet site you're using and the city your reserving for.
My guess is that this is a standard disclaimer that wouldn't be relevant in most places in Europe.
RE: Hotel taxes. A chain hotel in Germany. It was actually the hotel's website, and it seemed that the rate was cheaper than to e-mail the hotel directly. I feel better to just e-mail the hotel --since their rate included breakfast (but was sometimes E30 more than from their website).
