I am a nurse interested in visiting a European hospital to learn about their health systems. Any suggestions?
I would pick my top 5 and write an email to the Director of Nursing. You would want to give enough specific information about yourself and your reasons/goals in the visit to explain the situation, but not so much they stop reading it.
Hopefully, they will reply one way or another or give you other avenues to explore.
Actually I would check with your professional associations for an exchange. And I am suspicious from your log in name that this is a serious request.
Thank you frank and carol for your replies.
At this point I am not associated with the national association of OR nurses (CNOR) although I have been an OR nurse for 10 years.
As for the log-in name, my last name is Graves and for many years my mother said (after having 6 kids) that her next children’s names would be Philip or diggen. Needless to say, with a good sense of humor, my siblings have used a funny email address since then. 😀
I don’t know when your trip is or where you are visiting, but many hospitals have stopped completely or significantly reduced hospital visiting, so although your situation is different, it maybe that your request isn’t granted, but it’s worth a try! Many hospitals are overstretched at present and may not have the time to show you round.
