I am in the researching stage to purchase flights from Anchorage to Paris next April. So I have an alert set on Hopper and the other day it advised me that prices had dropped. However, when I got to Delta website the price is not even close to the price shown on Hopper. The flight we want is the Delta non stop flight from Seattle to Paris.
Has anyone been able to get the same price listed for a flight on Hopper on the actual airline website?
I use Hopper to track flight prices all the time. What I’ve found is that they are usually showing you the basic economy fare. I had a similar experience as you a few weeks ago. They said there was a crazy cheap price for a flight to Boston I wanted. It took about three times of flipping between Hopper and Delta to figure out what fare they were showing.
A couple of other things. If you were going from the Hopper app to the Delta app one of the things I have learned about the Delta app as it doesn’t show you all the connections you might could get. That will show if you go to the website but you don’t always seem to find them on the app for some reason. And hopper well of course of showing you some interesting connections. But honestly it’s really just kind of a useful tool for track and what’s going on it’s not incredibly reliable.
It also sent you an alert for airfare found. Now the airfare may be gone by the time you see the alert. So if Delta released one ticket at $400 and somebody bought it before you got there it’s gone. And a lot of times those really for the cheap seats there are only one or two seats per flight
