I'm heading to Ireland next week (will be visiting northern Ireland for a few days as well) and wondering if anyone had information on bringing homemade trail mix through customs? I'm thinking peanuts, yoghurt raisins, pretzels, chocolate chips, various dried fruit. I've been trying to research it but can't find many straight answers. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
In our last trip to Ireland a few years back, I had a bag of homemade trail mix: peanuts & dried fruits. I also had a bag of other dried fruits. No one batted an eyelash in either London where we changed planes or in Dublin. Of course that could change tomorrow depending on threats. Last time I looked, there was still no customs check at the ROI-NI border. Let's hope the Brexit negotiations keep it that way. Have a grand time in Ireland.
The official word, from the Irish government is
You are prohibited from importing meat or dairy products for your
personal consumption from almost all non-EU countries. Limited
quantities of certain other products may be imported provided their
country of origin is an EU approved country.
Yoghurt sounds dairy to me.
