Hemingway Bar at the Paris Ritz

Has anyone been to the Hemingway Bar at the Ritz in Paris recently? I attempted to go last year, but it was on Sunday and it was closed -- but the whole Ritz scene seemed intimidating to my sister and I. We are 2 mature womwn, who were very well dressed and respectable looking. We may try to go again this September. We know it's expensive, but want the experience. Is it worth it? Any tips for fitting in?

Just returned from Paris. If you want the experience, then it's worth it for you. To fit in all you need is money.

I was there with the Hemingway Society and think it is NOT worth it. The Ritz may be something to see just because it is so "ritzy" but the bar is not special. I wold go to Shakespere and Company bookstore where he hung out and which has some authentic charm. Also its less expensive (but not by much) to have a drink at the left bank places he visited but alas whose names I have forgotten.

BG,
... if you haven't done so already, go to www.Google.com and click on WEB. Then type in "Hemingway Bar, Paris"...
... plenty of good advice there, including that ladies should dress glam... Remember, take all things in moderation...
bon voyage ! ... P.

Thanks for the info and advice. I returned from Paris a couple of weeks ago, and actually did not go to the Hemingway Bar. I splurged and ate lunch at Le Grand Vefour instead -- a fabulous experience!
Will try the Hemingway someday though.
