Helpful Travel Apps

I am looking for some really good travel apps for my I-Pad. Which ones do you find most helpful. I will be traveling to Turkey next month but
I am looking for general helpful apps. Thanks in advance.

I use TripIt to keep all my travel info together in one place, it's really handy. I also use a combination of GoogleMaps and Locations as well as FourSquare for restaurant recommendations when I haven't planned where to eat in advance. I also use GoogleMaps to "star" places I want to go in advance at home, so when I open up the app on my phone, all the stars appear on the map and I can navigate easily.

For Turkey I do not know, but for my phone I use the Map and GPS heavily, a number of review sites (Yelp, Urban Spoon, TripAdvisor) plus converters for currency and measures. The advice I have though is to be aware of which apps are resident in your iPad vs. needing to use Data. If you are on international roaming, the Data charges may be steep unless you can get a WiFi signal.

I've found GoodReader to be most helpful. I PDF the background info I used to take as paper (eg, in depth discussion of certain sites I'll be visiting), and then download that into GoodReader. I haven't had particularly positive experience bringing electronic guidebooks... too hard and time consuming to page through them.

I also suggest Tripit & Good Reader. I've used Tripit several times and find it to be very comprehensive and useful. I use the free version. As for Good Reader, I save my camera manual as a pdf onto Good Reader as well as pdf versions of all my hotel/tour confirmation e-mails so that I don't have to print them all out & carry them with me. Very handy. Have a great trip.

I used Skype, Jibbigio (for language conversion) and Documents to go (to store all my notes, phone numbers, and reservation confirmations) on our last trip.

Like others have stated, I love tripit and skype. I also love the postagram app, used with instagram(camera app). Postagram sends your instagram pics as postcards to anywhere in the world (you can buy various packages). It's a great souvenir!

Check out Best Travel ap. You can download city maps in advance of your trip then pull up these maps when you are there. GPS will locate you on the map and it doesn't need wifi or phone service to work. Also like seatguru, gateguru, trip-it, Kayak, Trip Advisor and Rick Steves Audio Europe.
