I would like to visit Florence, paris and austria. I will be flying from US. I am not sure what order I should cover these in.
Please can you suggest how to prepare. How to travel between these cities and in which order?
Even though Austria is a small country, you still need to specify where in the country you want to travel.
Use Vienna as your entry gateway.
Take the train to Florence - you have direct night train services from Salzburg, or speedy day time connections from Innsbruck via Bologna.
Fly from Florence to Paris, then home from there.
Have you bought or borrowed the Rick Steves guides to France, Austria, and Italy? If not, please get off the forum and get those. You need to do your homework.
How much time are you planning and what time of the year?
I would like to spend a week in each place. i will be travelling in september.
As David suggests, start in Austria and work your way west, ending in Paris
As Paul suggests, you need to get some tour books and see what interests you in each location you have chosen. With 3 weeks you can put together a very nice trip
Here is a start on Austria http://www.austria.info/us Austria is the size of S Carolina, not huge, but still 32,000+ sq miles, so you will have to decide where you want to go.
If you are planning to go this year you need to decide soon, and get lodging reservations made and pre-purchase admissions to whatever museums or other attractions you want to see, so you can avoid long ticket lines at the site itself.
You do not need to plan every minute of your trip but you do need an outline so you spend your time efficiently and make the most of your trip
@paul,
i did read the book but i prefer taking suggestions from others who have done this. if you are not willing to help, then may be you should not be answering in the first place.
