Help with part of our itinerary

We will start our trip in Paris in September, 2016. This is what we've got so far: (number of days in each, yet to be decided)

Fly in to Paris
Bayeux (WWII sites)
Annecy (husband's bucket list
Lyon
Colmar
Train from Colmar to Zurich - then train to Innsbruck
Innsbruck (visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald)
Vienna and Budapest

This is where I need suggestions. We will fly home out of Amsterdam. I know we can fly from Vienna to Amsterdam, but we have time and would like to see some things along the way. We've already been to Munich, Salzburg, Prague, and Rothenburg. I'm thinking about taking the train to Nuremberg, then Bacharach, Cologne and on to Amsterdam.

Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Thank you

Sorry. We're planning on 4-5 weeks.

Arrive Paris - train to Bayeux (3 nights)
Paris (2 nights) - still undecided about this since we went to Paris this year
Train to Annecy (3 nights)
Train to Lyon (4 nights)
Train to Colmar (2 nights)- have been there before
Train to Innsbruck (3 nights)
Train to Vienna (5 nights)

This will leave us approximately 10 days to get to Amsterdam and stop on the way.

I haven't looked, but I bet you could use the time to do a river cruise from Vienna to Amsterdam.

Perhaps train to Munich, hire a car, and drive the Romantic Road from Augsburg to Wurzburg.
Then head to Cologne, return your car, and train to Amsterdam.

I would have thought ... Paris > Colmar > Lyon > Annecy > Zurich ... is a more efficient routing.

djp: I haven't figured that part out yet. Train from Annecy to Zurich is 5 hours with 2 changes. From Colmar to Zurich it's 2 hours with one change. But I agree, it seems like we're doing it out of order.
