Help with itinerary - Italy, France, and possibly Croatia

Looking for feedback or suggestions if this will work or if anyone has done a similar trip.

Travelling to Europe in May for 4 weeks, with the following itinerary confirmed:

Santa Margherita Ligure > Cinque Terre > Pisa > Florence for a total of 14 nights. Looking at adding Rome (debating due to the Jubilee year) and possibly Venice.

Add Paris before or after Italy, as well as wanting to add Croatia if it would work.

I'm trying to limit flying within Europe, though the train ride to/from Paris is long.

Thank you!

If the flights all lineup yup for you, then you could do brief visit to Paris before and Croatia after (or vice versa), bookending two weeks in Italy. Not that I would 100% recommend this, as you will have to be so selective with your Croatia selection. And your Italy time would be tight if you add those other stops.

If you are looking to swim, etc., in Croatia, you want to be there last as the sea is just starting to warm in late May.

For Paris, I'd put it at the start of your trip and take the overnight train to Italy (Paris to Milan is pretty comfortable).

Thank you. Which company have you used for the overnight train from Paris to Milan?

Croatia works best if you self-drive. But dropping of in Croatia after renting cross-border is quite expensive. Best way we found to bridge that issue was a private driver from Venice (or Trieste) to Ravinja.

Four weeks is not enough to do all three countries.

For Italy, 14 days is not enough to do what you want if you add Rome. Still, add Rome and more than 14 days to Italy.
