help with food allergy

I have an allergy to cinnamon. (sad but true~ at least it isn't chocolate)

Can anyone who is well versed in French, Italian, and Greek (we will be in these countries) please give me a phrase to hand to waiters before I order stating that I cannot have/ or eat cinnamon due to an allergy.

I will have medicine on me, however I would like to avoid a trip to the ER on vacation.

I do have some phrase books and I am trying to put some things together but thought I would check this helpline.

In French,

I'm allergic to cinnamon is: Je suis allergique a la canelle.

Go to the website Babelfish and type in what you want to say. It will provide you with a translation. Copy it and you will have what you need.

You can always write it down on a card and hand it to them if you arent sure you can enunciate it correctly!!

Hi Tami,

Yes I agree. I will bring the phrases to hand to the waiters before ordering. That way I will be sure there is no confusion.

Try an online dictionary where you can type the phrase. Write each of them down on a piece of paper and hand it to the waiter .
