Help with days in Garmish/Mittenwald and Ortesei

My husband and I have allotted 4 days in Garmish/Mittenwald. The wish list to do includes Zugspitze, Partnatch Gorge, and Leutasch Gorge. We have also planned 4 days in Ortisei. Should I add 1 day in Ortisei and only spend 3 in Garmish/Mittenwald? Thanks in advance.

Yes.

We spent about four hours in Mittenwald and felt that was enough.

We had three nights in Garmisch and even with daily extended hikes, we had enough time to explore the area.

We then went on to Ortisei. It is very small and there is not a ton to do if you are not into hiking. If so, four days may be perfect. If not hiking, I would only consider two nights and then spend the remainder of the time in Bolzano.

Definitely add a day in Ortisei. The one recommendation that I ignored, that I regret is adding more time to Ortisei.

EDIT: I still think about these shoes that I wanted to try on, but we didn't have time. Can't get them in the US!

We prefer to stay at Innsbruck which is about 35 miles south of Garmisch. It's a larger city with plenty of things to do. Garmisch and the South Bavaria can easily be done on day trips if you have a car. And a rental car is the only way to travel in the mountains.

Needless to say, Tirol is incredibly beautiful. I first was there in 1970 for college and I'm naturally drawn back there. It's about time I returned.
