HELP! Too many decisions. Oktoberfest/Innsbruck/Italy

Hello,
I'm doing a group trip to celebrate two 50th birthdays (and our anniversary as a bonus). We have 4 couples meeting in Munich (all getting there by various routes). We will all meet in Munich on Sept. 19th. We have a table reservation for Sunday, Sept. 20th at Oktoberfest.
We are staying in Munich until the 22nd
Will train to Innsbruck and stay there until the 24th
Two of the other couples will leave at this point.
Two couples will go on to Italy.
This is where we are really struggling- with where to go. We have 5 nights.
We (my husband and I) are flying out of Venice. The other couple is flying out of Munich (so they will need to train back to Munich).
The dates will be Sept. 24th-29th
We are debating between going to the Dolomites (Val Gardena) or Lake Garda (Malcesine or ??).
We will spend the last night in Venice- would be open to a great hotel suggestion or the last evening in Venice.

Open to any suggestions/ideas/input. Help!

Thank you,
Kim

I would consider the Dolomites over Lake Garda.

That time of year can be cooler with a chance or showers anywhere in that part of Europe but if you hit good weather, it will be spectacular.

We much preferred Malcesine over Riva on our Lake Garda trip. However, you might find it very slow that time of year. We were in Varenna and Bellagio last October and it was a little too quiet.

Simce you are flying out of Venice, consider the Veneto region just south of the Dolomites if weather patterns seem too cold or wet up higher. Verona is next on my list.
