Help Needed with Air One

I'm having problems with this airline and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Here's the story:

I booked a direct Boston-Milan flight for 412 euros in August

I found out about 3 weeks before my scheduled flight on this board that all of these flights were cancelled

I called the customer service rep and he verrified that the fly was cancelled and gave me the option of flying Boston-Chicago-Milan or a complete refund. He assured me that the refund would arrive in 11 to 19 days and I'd get what I paid in dollars (not euros)

I got my refund about 45 days after my cancellation and it was in euros - short changing me about $110/ticket due to changes in the exchange rate

By today, I've called customer service about 8 times (they are totally clueless), the refund people twice (they dont' speak english very well) and sent 5 emails (none of which were answered)

What do I do?

Those small airline companies have a bad customer sevice. I sent an email to wizzair about 2 months ago and they have not answred me yet, and most likely they will not.
Why was so much difference? $110.The change in rate was about 10-15%.
The only advice I can give you is that to contact your credit card company.
The problem is that the that rate has changed and because your credit card accepts only USD back, I assume you will need to take the loss.
I never use a foreign airline to book my flights overseas. The ones in US have good rates to. I wonder if the rate of EUR412 was real actually. As far as I know the rates on Air one are quiet high.I searched for flight inside Europe and their rate were way higher than Wizzair, Blue air etc.

Thanks for the lecture. Perhaps I dreamed up everything I wrote here. Or perhaps I intentionally booked an expensive flight because I love flying unknown europeon airlines.

"I wonder if the 412 euro rate was real"? What does that mean?

Also, 412 Euros x 1.52 = $626
Now, 412 X 1.30 = $535

There was an additional fee that brought it up to $645, but that's neither here nor there.

When someone asks for help they usually aren't looking for someone to call them stupid.

Matt, do grow up.

Beas answer was neither a lecture, nor did she call you stupid.

But I will , you are stupid to be so rude to someone who a) commiserated with you
b) advised you as best as they could

People like you are never happy. Good luck. Perhaps find a place where people like being put down for helping you as best as they can. I suggest you go and PAY a travel agent for advice since regular folks just aren't good enough for you.

I bet you are just a kid.

Matt,

My answer wasn't to call you stupid, I was trying to figure out what happened and I gave you an advice. I have a lot of experince in travelling and booking cheap flights or hotels. Because someone makes a mistake , it doesn't make a person stupid.
BTW, I just check a flight from Chicago to Rome, at the end of November for 2 weeks, when it's the cheapest season,or one of, and it's almost 600 euros.I find it strange that they gave you "such a deal" in August, when it's the peak season. That's why is asked you if the rate was real.
next time I will not waste my time to answer you, if you get so frustated by my answers.

Bea,

I apologize. I've spent so much time trying to sort out these issues with Air One (including an hour this afternoon) and I lashed out at you. Again, apologies.

Sadly, you've learned a lesson in foreign exchange.

When you bought the ticket, you bought it in Euros. Your credit card company automatically changes it into dollars.

When you got the refund, you were refunded in Euros. Again, your credit card company changed it to dollars--only this time the exchange rate had changed.

Air One refunded what you paid. 412 Euros. Your only recourse is to contact your credit card company, explain what happened and see if they will credit you the difference. The problem is not with Air ONe but with your credit card company.

Frank,

I guess that's where I feel like I've been robbed because the customer service rep assured me that I would get my full purchase amount back, based on the currency that I paid. I asked him this explicitly because I knew it would have been a factor in my decision whether or not to take the worse flight through Chicago. And they don't have any language about this policy online. I'm very frustrated because the flight was $650, then my replacement flight was $800, now tack on another $110 in lost money and I'm looking at $910. I felt I could trust that the information that Air One was giving me was the truth.

Did you get the person's name who guaranteed you the full refund in U.S. dollars? If so, you should try to get a hold of him

I doubt Air One will honor it. You really need to talk to your credit card company. They'll have more clout with Air One than you will....or they might refund you the difference.

No, and I'm feeling like a big old sucker right now for not taking it down. Thanks for the advice. I'll spend some time with my CC people tonight.
