Help I am desperate!

We leave for Germany in two days and I have not been able to find any accomodations for three people in Hamburg, Dresden, and Cologne. All the hotels are only allowing two people in their rooms. I have looked through all the guide books I can find and that hasn't helped either. I have tried many of the websites posted like Vener.com and hotwire and expedia and others. Does anyone who has traveled with three people have any suggestions on what to do? All help will be greatly appreciated!

When you arrive, find the tourist information desk or office. They can help you locate housing.

Jodi, what you need is called a "Dreibettzimmer" (three-beds room). You can google "Dreibettzimmer Hamburg", Dresden and Köln (Cologne) and e.g. find the Residence Hamburg hotel that offers Dreibettzimmer...

This time of year it's not crowded enough to require reservations. You should be able to call in the morning, tell them exactly what you want "a room for three people for one night," and find lots of options. The easiest, not best way, is to ask at the Tourist Information places in train stations. They will set you up in an instant but it won't be the cheapest option (possibly cheaper than getting reservations before you go).

try www.venere.com because this site will allow you to choose the numbers of persons in your room for your specified days. It will then show you the available rooms.

I've used Venere several times and have never had a problem. It requires no money deposit and you pay at the hotel when you check out.

I think you should be fine, many hotels are very accomodating. Another option is a single and a double, sounds expensive, but probably not much more than a triple.

HI Jodi, I can relate! We leave in 3 weeks and I have not made car or room res yet. The difference is we are traveling as 3 this time. Try ViaMichelin.com as a hotel source. They show some hotels on a map. You have to play around a bit with the room part. My first few times I kept getting no availabilty. Check to make sure you are picking the right room type and try 3 adults. Good Luck

thank you everyone for your suggestions. I was able to book a hotel in Dresden through the viaMichelin.com sight that John suggested. At least it gave me some three people options. One down and two more cities to go. At least I am feeling a little better about my situation now. Thanks again!!
