Help! Computer crashed....lost all my web fav's

Hi, My computer has died and I have LOST all my favorite links that I had saved for all my research for our summer 2013 trip to Europe. (About 40+ hours) If anyone has sites for accomodations especially, could you please post them. We are staying in the followin cities. Apartment rental site suggestions would be great Edinburgh (apartment) 5 nts Paris (apartment) 7 nts Venice (B&B or Hotel) 2nts
Cinque Terre (Montresso, Vernazza) (B&B or Hotel) 3 nts Florence (any type of accomodation) 2nts Rome (apartment) 7 nts Any other sites on transportation for trains or such would be great. I Thank You for any links you can add that you have found useful. I did have a backup, but we aren't sure if it is fryed as well or if it has saved my fav's. All help much appreciated! I am reverting to the old pen and paper now, or saving to my skydrive instead!

Tania, Sorry to hear about your "bad luck". Here's a few links that may help.... > Apartments - I never rent apartments, but there have been lots of recommendations for VRBO here on the HelpLine. > Edinburgh - I don't know of any apartments but if you want a recommendation for a nice Hotel, I would highly recommend Hotel Ceidleh Donia. It's a bit outside of town, so not as expensive as staying on the Royal Mile. > Paris - No info on apartments > Venice - Have a look at Pensione Guerrato or Albergo Doni. > Cinque Terre (Monterosso, Vernazza) - Have a look at these two weblinks, which list all the Hotels: Monterosso Vernazza > Florence - No info on apartments > Rome - No info on apartments For transportation and trains: > www.bahn.de > www.trenitalia.com > www.seat61.com > www.sncf.com That's all I can think of at the moment. Rather than use pen & paper, have you considered using a USB Flash Drive to back-up your travel files? If you have either an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can also store MS Office files there using Doc's To Go. Hope you can recover your files. Good luck!

Maybe our best advice would be to direct you to a good back-up system which I am sure you will be very interested in now. My awaking came ten years ago. Now everything is backed up twice.

Tania,
Have you checked the list of website links on the RS homepage? It might give you some of what you need. It's under the "planning your trip" section on the right side - "helpful websites". Hope that helps a little. I know the sick feeling when you lose it all after lots of work. Good luck. At least you have time to recreate most of it, thank goodness you weren't going this summer.
