I have mild asthma. Has anyone had a breathing problem taking the cable car to the top of Zugspitze in Germany? I really want to go up there.
I have asthma, and traveling to the top of the Schiltorn and Jungfrau in Switzerland has never caused any difficulties. Having said that, different things cause attacks in different people so YMMV. http://www.livestrong.com/article/504222-high-altitudes-asthma/
If it's asthma what you have and not COPD or cardiac problems you should be OK. It's not even 3000 metres high. Actually you should even feel better because there are fewer allergens higher in the mountains. If you want to be 100% sure consult your doctor. If he wants to know the height of Zugspitze in feet it's about 9000.
COPD is Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Zugspitze is 9718 ft, to be exact. The parking lot at Loveland Ski Area in Colorado is more than 1000 ft higher, at 10,800 ft.
