Have You Heard of Points.Com or Points

This is a company based in Canada, so I believe.

It is a site that allows you to trade or exchange or move your rewards / miles / points from one site into another site.

For instance, I am registered with American, JetBlue and Delta among others. So, I created an account with Points.com. Now I have to activate my American, JetBlue and Delta rewards on their site. Then I can transfer my Delta points into my American points so as to have more miles toward my flight.

Points.com was on the American site but it is also on the Delta site. I called American and they said it is valid but they reminded me that it is a third party site. I am flying American from Austin to Copenhagen in September.

I have not yet read any reviews because I can not seem to find any.

Yeah, I was signed up for it at one point. I don't recall if I ever actually traded anything - the cost of trading between programs was not cheap between most programs. At some point the site became useless to me, and I haven't even bothered to login for years. It might make sense if I had some amount of points or miles in one account that could never use or something.

It is a place where people who hack frequent flyer accounts are allegedly stashing the stolen points. I’m not saying the company itself does this or even that the majority of users do. There are enough reports of hacked points being deposited here that it has made me quite leery.

Thank you for your responses.

I did not realize that payment was necessary. I thought you traded points in one account for points in another. I assumed you gave up some points but I did not know that you needed a credit card.

American did not sound enthusiastic when I called about points.com. That raised a red flag.
