Looking forward to an Italian vacation in the fall and wondering what hat or cap to take. Seems simple enough. Every guy who wears a hat or cap has their favorites, but it seems like it's a great way to really Stand Out as an Americano...are any Europeans wearing anything on their heads these days?? On my previous European trips, the only males with hats or caps were either over 70 or working with a uniform on. So, what's the current cranium covering norm in Europe today???
This question was discussed last year, on this topic thread what kind of hats do Italians wear?
All you need to know about hats in Italy is shown in the 2 pics on the above thread (posted last year when it was still ok to imbed pics).
:)
Some people wear hats, most don't unless it's cold.
An American sport themed baseball cap will probably be one of multiple clues that tell people you're American but Europeans wear similar golf caps (and the occasional baseball cap).
I usually go no hat when it's nice and bring a knit ski cap if it's going to be cold.
