Has anyone used sendmybag.com ?

We are headed to France for a wedding weekend, and I am considering using sendmybag.com to ship a box/luggage from France back to the US. We won't need the suit, dresses, and nice shoes for the rest of our 3 weeks in France and Switzerland.

Has anyone had any experience with them ? Or anyone else ?

I used them last year to send a bag from London back to the U.S. Worked great. My bag was picked up by DHL and delivered either the next day or two days later. I don't remember. I was still in London.

Someone has to be available for the pickup but my hotel was willing to do that.

No complaints and I'd use them again.

Thank you Frank II !!

We ship here with Fed Ex and UPS and have accounts so we considered having all the info packaging ready to go. But I haven't found a Fed Ex or UPS location in the Dordogne region of France.....

This will be an easy alternative !!

Carla,
We considered sending a package via sendmybag.com (from the U.K.) but we didn’t want to wait around all day for them to pick it up, so we opted for shipping it via Mail Boxes, Etc.
The packages arrived to our home within a few days.

Have a wonderful trip!

I don't think you need any special service. I would simply use a local shipping company/agent or even the post office express service. Will not be cheap but the convenience of not lugging extra luggage for three weeks will be worth it. Make sure someone is there to collect the package off your porch since it will beat you home or send it to a friend who will be home. And make sure the customs label is accurate because it will go through US customs.

Couple of thoughts not directly on point to your question

1- If you are arriving and leaving via the same place, perhaps store the fancy clothes bag there and pick it up for the flight home?

2- Is there a friend/family returning home after the wedding that could take your bag and you just reimburse them the airline's extra bag fee? ( Probably cheaper than any shipping method)

Good idea ! #2 could work if I could coerce someone into taking it home !

The Dordogne is a pretty casual place (I know that is a big generalization). My point is, you are already traveling far for the wedding and maybe you don't need to wear a suit and fancy shoes. I'd inquire as to what the groom is wearing as well as the people in the wedding party.
