Has anyone ever done a Discover Walks Private Tour

Especially in Paris or Barcelona with young children (ours are 6 and 8 years old)? I've read lots of trip advisor reviews on their free group tours but I'm not sure my kids would get as much out of it so I was considering doing one of their family private tours. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks!

I think I would check out some other companies that offer private tours, because 140 € for 90 min. is too much. Trip Advisor is sure to have dozens listed.

Have you thought about contacting the Paris Greeters organization?

Thanks so much for the info. I did contact Paris Walks and when I told them the ages of my kids they wrote me back to say that they would not recommend any of their tours. They recommended their tours for ages 12 and up.

We hired a private guide for both the Louvre and Versailles last year. Travelling with three children ages 5,7 and 10, we also felt that a group tour wasn't in their (or the other members of the group's) best interest. The private tour allowed us time to linger on things they enjoyed and time for them to ask questions. We chose a guide from toursbylocals.com (Eugenie). She is a registered French guide, she has a background in art history and was wonderful with the children. With the private guide we were also able to skip all lines at Versailles which, with small kids, was worth its weight in gold. We're visiting Europe again this summer and have hired a one day private guide in London and a two hour guide in Ghent. We'll do Paris on our own this time :-)

As for cost, we paid approx. 200 euros for a three hour tour of the Louvre.
