How meaningful that his birthday is today! He deserves all the accolades he is receiving, a brilliant and caring man. Thankfully he doesn’t have to deal with Trump anymore.

Wishes for a very, very Happy Birthday to Dr Fauci. The man deserves a medal. I hope someone whispers his name in conjunction with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in President Biden's ear.

Dr. Fauci is a big reason we’re in a position to plan our September 2021 trip to Italy, and have booked our flights. He’s THE MAN!

He has flip flopped for months.

He's not a politician but a scientist who takes in information and adjusts as he gets better information and data. There is no sin in that, nor in admitting that you were wrong or need to adjust course (that's how theories and knowledge get replaced with improved theories and knowledge, and has been that way since time immemorial). I have no doubts whatsoever about his good intentions and hard work on behalf of the public. I'm incredibly thankful for his service as well, and he looks great for an 80 year old! He clearly finds meaning in his work, has a lot to contribute, and has no reason to retire unless it's on his own terms. I'm in awe of his work ethic and clear and direct communication skills.

I really admire him. He is, perhaps, one of the most measured, well-spoken, knowledgeable, focused individuals that I have seen in a leadership role in a long time. He has a good sense of humor, takes his work seriously, but ignores the ridiculous sideline noise and stays focused on how/where he can provide value.

So much was not known about the virus in the beginning, and scientists/medical professionals continue to learn and will continue to learn more (as more data points become available going forward). But, never, ever did I question the words coming out of Dr. Fauci's mouth. He is a straight shooter, regardless of whatever political pressure was put on him. Talk about remaining calm and effective under immense pressure and even personal threats.....the guy is incredible. THAT is why he is such a trusted, valued professional.

Authority is granted (via hiring or being elected , etc.) to many leaders, but trust is earned. The majority of Americans have nothing but trust for Dr. Fauci.......he has earned it time and time again.

Thanks Maggie for this tribute to Dr. Fauci. As a health professional I truly admire Dr. Fauci for all the reasons you described. (well said). Looking back to the beginning of the Virus I realized we were dealing with something novel. It continues to evolve. I look at it as a learning process. We've come a long way. So grateful that Dr. Fauci will be part of the team moving forward. His calm demeanor & knowledge is to be admired.

And we should all thank Dr Fauci for helping to make it possible to develop a vaccine in record time saving lives and making (safe) Christmas 2021 trips possible!!!
