Hand warmers ok for carry on luggage ???

I'm packing my carry-on [my only luggage] and am including hand warmers, as we will be outside at night for the Xmas Markets.
It just hit me- are they ok for carry on? The ingredients are iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal, and vermiculite. They are air activated once the flat packet is opened. My liquids limit has been met already, and these are in a sealed package of 10.
When I searched on the TSA site, it indicated these are ok for carry-on, BUT are they considered liquid or dry?
HELP- leaving very soon. Anyone have experience in this area ?
Thanks so much.

Locals use punsch as a handwarmer at the markets :)

I would try to take them. What’s the worst that could happen?

Wondering if you can find hot roasted chestnuts at the Christmas Markets. They would make good hand warmers and when cool a nice snack.

Why not just pick some up when you get there. I'm sure they sell them in Europe.

Tom, thanks for the FAA bulletin, that was VERY helpful.
This site is incredible for the depth of knowledge , prompt replies, - AND humor. Think I'll basically use all the suggestions posted here- pack them, no loss if confiscated, drink warm wine, buy more warmers if needed, and improvise! Thx again!

I flew last night with toe warmers in my carry on with no reaction from TSA.

Not sure which countries you’re visiting but I have found plenty of those hand warmers in outdoor /sporting goods stores in France, Germany, and the UK.

Hardwarmers made it thru TSA fine- they were examined, but I had no problems. Thanks to all!

I would print the advisory from FAA just in case one of the overzealous TSA screeners is having a bad day.

I had the advisory taped to the hand- warmers. We are VERY glad we brought them!
