We are doing European cruise touring Italy on our own this fall. Does Rick have any of his guidebooks (or any others) in Electronic format (e-book for IPad, IPod or PC)?

Yes, he has several in the Kindle Store, including many of his Italy books. The nice thing about the Kindle versions, is that in many cases the larger print books are divided up so you only need to buy what you are seeing. For example, I am going to Berlin and Amsterdam this summer. I bought the sections on each city rather than having to buy the entire Germany book and the entire Benelux book.
Just go to the Amazon.com Kindle Store and search for Rick Steves and you'll find them.
