Toss coins into Rome's Trevi fountain, rub the snout on the bronze boar in Florence... does anyone know of landmarks in other cities that "guarantee" a return?
Heidelberg, Germany .... Touch the fingers of the famous monkey statue at the base of the Old Bridge assures you will come back.
One of the statues on the Charles Bridge in Prague - about mid-way across on the down river side. Man and woman - you touch the woman. Can't miss it, it's the one people are standing in front of rubbing, plus it's the one that very shiny! I guess it worked for me as I've been 3 times!
My bank where I accumulate money for the next trip.
Isn't standing on Point Zero in Paris a guaranteed return?
In Vancouver it can rain for your entire visit but on the drive to the airport the skies always open and the sunshine on the spectacular landscape will change your opinion about a return journey. Seattle tries to do the same thing.
Maybe I've just been lucky, but I recall only one time when it rained for most of the week when visiting Seattle...that was in November, so it was expected. I was just there again last month, and it was sunny every day. In fact, a local told me it had been the driest summer in something like 65 years...grass was all dried up, etc. Still, it's hard to beat such a beautiful city, and that vista toward Rainier...unbelievable! Some places are just so great, one could return a thousand times no matter the weather: San Francisco, Seattle, and Toronto come to mind. Everyone has their own favorites. Vancouver is on the "places to visit next" list. :) In Madrid, there's a kilometer zero...I walked on it...not sure if that means I'll return or not.
I left Seattle because of all of the drizzle and now spend most of my time in Hawaii where, if you seen some of the sights here, that should guarantee your return. Not in Europe? sorry...
I always throw coins into the Trevi Fountain. One time I didn't, and I didn't get back to Rome for 12 years.
