Groupon getaways

Has anyone ever bought a trip on Groupon? I am looking at several to England and Ireland and I was wondering about others' experiences. (I'm aware of all the fine print.) Much appreciated!

I have bought local day trips with good success on Groupon. I have not purchased any for international travel.
I checked quickly on Trip Advisor Travel Forum and saw a post from someone who had purchased a trip to Turkey in 2013 and been quite pleased. I did also see a few articles where the limitations and restrictions (must be the fine print you referred to) were discussed as being quite restrictive.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes.

We bought a package from Travel Zoo last year that we thought was an unbelievable deal. See our travel report at --

Shortly before we left we saw the same identical package on Groupon for the same price. We never looked at the details to see if the restrictions were the same. If it was the same, it would have been a terrific deal. We are now watching Travel Zoo and Groupon for a a similar deal for France next year. Maybe we will get lucky. Just check the fine print carefully but I think Groupon is very reliable. With Travel Zoo you have to react quickly. Our package on Travel Zoo sold out in four hours. Don't have any experience with Groupon for foreign travel but if we saw a deal we liked we would grab it.

Thanks Frank. As long as one is smart about the fine print, I think it's a good option.
