🇬🇷Greece/🇹🇷Turkey itinerary *suggestions?

HELP 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just added 2 more 🌙Nights to my itinerary….can someone please advise where I should plug 😳🙄them in? I haven’t been to either country. I’m trying not to add another city due to logistics. If you insist I visit a particular city can you tell me which listed city a day trip would combine well with? I’m not a big fan of airport hotel stays but I was trying to make the transition easier. If you have a better suggestion please share 🙏🏻 Also if I really messed up…please tell me. 😂

🇹🇷SEA to Istanbul
4 N -Istanbul
2 N -Cappadocia (Goreme balloon ride)
2 N -Urgup
1 Overnight bus to Pamukkale
Day enjoy Pamukkale
1 N -Istanbul airport hotel
To transition to Greece
🇬🇷 Fly to Chania from Istanbul
3 N-Chania
3 N-Heraklion
*Takis Shelter a must if I go to Greece 🐾🦮
4 N-Santorini (OIA)
3 N-Athens
Fly back SEA

if I understand your request for suggestions of a good daytrip from a city correctly, here’s a suggestion for Hania on Crete: In 2019, we were on Crete late September/early October. The Samaria Gorge is an iconic location on Crete, and many people hike from its top down to the sea at the bottom. It has very high walls, amazing scenery, and one place that’s surprisingly narrow, for such a big gorge. But it’s closed down for the year by early-to-mid October, when the rainy season starts, and flooding becomes a safety concern. In September, you’ll still be safe, if you’re interested and up for the hike, which takes the better part of an entire day. The hike starts with a long stairway, before becoming a trail that follows the river downwards. And descending the gorge is easier than hiking from the bottom to the top!

i skipped the hike, but my husband took a taxi to/from the gorge from Hania. A bus is another option, which many others used to get there from Hania. For many who visit Crete, the Samaria Gorge is a must-do.

My dates are from 09-18-22 to 10-12-22
I didn’t plug them bc I’m nervous to ramble too much and bore people. 😂

On the comment about Crete day trip, I’ll be in Crete in Oct. I HOPE it’s not too WET when there. But I’m from PNW 🏔☔️so I should be familiar with it.

Also on the comment about why 4 nights in Santorini…🥺I don’t know? I thought it was one of the most desirable/beautiful places to go (OIA is where I’m staying) so I thought I needed to do at least 4. Please follow up with how many nights is normal. 😂😂

I had read some people even said 7…but I thought that was overkill. I couldn’t factor that many for 1 city.

Thank you all for your insight!!!! I appreciate your feedback!!!🙇‍♀️🙏🏻

Yes, Santorini is a beautiful place, but you can see the entire island in one full day.
There are some interesting achaelogical ruins at one end.

Also, it is seriously overrun with tourists, I could see staying there just to relax, but is is expensive?

Geovagriffith thank you for your reply. 🙏🏻 Yes it is expensive because I want to stay near the blue domes & in comfortable quarters. Yes, I chose 4 N just to relax. 🤣. I figure I’m going all that way & if that was one of the most beautiful islands I should stay longer on my itinerary. But again-this is why I’m using you all as a springboard for my final decisions. I value others experiences & 🥰 feedback.
