Greece or Dublin?

If you had to choose between Greece or Dublin, which would you pick and why? I love them both because of history, music, food, and scenary so it's a toss up since I cannot afford nor have enough time to see both.

Robin - I cast a vote for Greece - Particularly Santorini and Mykonos - What's not to like!

If it's a choice between only Dublin and the whole country of Greece, I'd go with Greece. If you intended to actually see more of Ireland than Dublin, I'd choose Ireland. Of course, a lot depends on what part of the year you are thinking of traveling. You're likely to find better airfare to Ireland than to Greece, too.

Ginger or MaryAnn? It's a toss up indeed. What time of year are you thinking of? Unless it is high summer, you might find Ireland too cool and wet for your taste, especially coming from Hawaii. If it is high summer, you might find Greece too sweltering. So for me, timing would make the choice.

Greece,, but,, when is trip planned? I wouldn't winter in Dublin cause I am sick of rain,, and I wouldn't winter in Greece either since I love the islands and they are dead nov-april ( since its not warm then)

I would choose to winter vacation in a city with more indoor attractions( ie museums of London or Paris)

If travelling this spring , summer or fall, Greece would be my first choice,, love the ( very)anicent history, the Mediterrean Sea,, the islands,, the warmth, the lovely white washed buildings, the food,, but,, not the wine,, LOL, yech,, Retisina ,, now thats a taste I have never accquired! LOL

It would really depend on the time of year for the trip. Spring in Greece would be just fantastic. Water will be already warm enough to go swimming and you have wonderful flowering vegetation.

Not keen on the temperatures there in July/August. And the vegetation can look quite burned. That would be my perfect time for Ireland.

We did a trip to Ireland in October many years back. The rain wasn't too bad, lots of rainbows to see! Bud I do remember that I was cold quite often. Greece might be more agreeable.

Thank you all for your feedback. I especially like the MaryAnn or Ginger analogy. I am going in the Spring in pretty much a month away. Getting hyped up now. Here's another question: Single or taken would be better when visiting Athens or Dublin? This is an honest question that has got me trippin'. Mahalo Plenty :)

LOL. Greek men do tend to be a bit forward, Robin. ;)

For me it would depend on where else you're traveling. Dublin is easy to get to from anywhere. Greece a little more tricky - unless you're in the area.

Can't say Dublin is my favorite city ever, but the rest of Ireland is worth it. (Read between the lines: I wouldn't go just to see Dublin itself.)
