Great Rick Steves Online Store Customer Service

It was time to order our merchandise which is included with a Rick Steves tour. In addition to all of that (guide, money belt, neck pouch) I added a cute little lambskin wallet that was on sale and two tee-shirts my husband had been wanting. The package ended up arriving after we left for a trip to the Black Hills, so it didn't get opened for several days. When he went to put on one of his shirts, his hand started to go through an extra hole (a big cut in the fabric) in the sleeve.

I used the merchandise link to contact Rick Steves, and after seeing the picture of the hole, they quickly sent out a replacement. I was told there would be a little surprise with the shirt, and there certainly was. In the package was the newest edition of Europe Through the Back Door. Our current version is from 2017, and besides the tour we are traveling on our own through several countries, so we were very happy to get the updated copy!

Happy to hear you had great customer service.

That has been my experience too. The telescoping handle on my Rolling Carry-On quit telescoping. When I emailed Customer Service to find where I could get replacement parts, after asking for pictures, they replaced a lightly used (thanks to Covid), seven year old suitcase. In the past they replaced a torn packing cube that only lasted half a trip.

Rick Steves' company is the most ethical I have dealt with. In my young life, I spent years in retail management. RS far exceeds the norm.

We have also had a suitcase replaced when the top handle broke off. It was surprising that it had lasted for a few years because one of the screws wasn't going into anything solid. The service is great!
