Great Hostel in Paris Rue Cler area

Hi my son and I are traveling to Paris in early March. We are trying to save money on sleeping so we can really eat well. But we want to stay in a clean friendly hostel in the Rue Cler area ( Rick really talks up this area in his travel guide) thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Ed, If you definitely want to stay in the Rue Cler area, you may have to settle for a budget Hotel. There are lots of listings in the France or Paris Guidebooks. One that you could have a look at is the Grand Hotel Leveque. It's not luxurious but very comfortable. If you would prefer staying in Hostels, have a look at the HI Hostels Europe website. They have four properties in Paris, in various locations. I've found the HI facilities to be well run and fairly consistent from one location to the next (they're usually not party Hostels). It's so easy to get around Paris via the Metro, that it doesn't really matter which area you stay in (provided it's reasonably close to the main sights). Happy travels!

Ed the Royal Phare http://www.hotel-royalphare-paris.com/ is located around the corner from Rue Cler and is a budget hotel that is cheap, clean, convenient, and no frills. The metro stop is literally at the front door, 2 ATMs located beside the front door, supermarket just next door, boulangeries and patisseries are all around.
