GPS Cell Phone Tracking Services

We used AccuTracking for our last couple trips to Europe. Our family and friends enjoyed following us in our travels across Europe and we posted a link to our travel blog so that anyone could click it to find where we were at any given time on a map(even when he accidentally left the cell phone crossing the Atlantic...) as long as the cell phone was turned on and had service. It would also show our line of travel for a certain period of time (designated in our settings).

I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so, what service did you use? I Googled and get lots of options... Thanks!

I have the following programs download for my Garmin 780T:

Google Maps with GPS Tracking
GPS Trackmaker
and IGoogle which will track my laptop.

I have not mastered the 1st two. We used the IGoogle for our 5 week trip last summer. That way invited people could see where we were each time we booted up the laptop.

I will have someone show me how to use the 1st two prior to another trip.

I got a private message questioning why I asked the question so I now feel the need to clarify further.

I'm asking for suggestions of other similar applications because Accutracking is rather simple and didn't allow us to change settings very much (and honestly, when we did use it originally we didn't do any research - it was a last minute Google search).

Yes, we are not sure if we are even bringing a cell phone and yes, we have used this particular software successfully 2 times. In posting this question I also figured this would bring up other types of software used similarly (laptop or actual GPS device) giving us other options to choose from (since we do also travel with a laptop).

Thanks for the couple responses...I suspect this isn't a common thing people do.

Steve, my boyfriend has had to travel w/blackberry the last couple trips and was on a type of international data plan. He didn't incur any insane charges since it wouldn't stay connected constantly but would download every so often (no different than syncing work email, for example). We wouldn't likely do this on our own with our own phone...we're not even sure we'll do it this next trip since he has a new job and not sure they'll require the phone or not.
